The mission of Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office is to maintain order and provide professional law enforcement services to citizens in the community. This office strives to enforce the law and maintain order in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing the need for justice, and consistent appearance of justice. The sheriff recognizes that no law enforcement agency can operate at its maximum potential without supportive input from the citizens it serves. This office solicits and encourages the cooperation of all citizens to reduce crime and to assist in bringing to justice those that break the law.
Tishomingo County is located in the northeastern corner of the state of Mississippi. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county covers a total of 445 square miles with a population of 19,163. Tishomingo County is bordered by Hardin County, Tennessee to the north, and Colbert and Franklin County, Alabama to the east.
Tishomingo County is referred to as the Gateway into Mississippi due to its location in the extreme northeast corner of the state. It is home to museums, the Natchez Trace Parkway, Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway, Pickwick Lake, the famous Battle of Iuka, historic neighborhoods, churches and cemeteries, plus musical icons Mac McAnally and Pete Pyle, and much more.
