The statue produced by Branko Medenica is titled 'Sacred Tears' and it captures the spirit of the Trail of Tears as it illustrates the suffering of those that endured the long walk. It's location in Spring Park in Tuscumbia, AL is significant because many of those that were removed from their homes and forced to make the journey to 'Indian Territory' in Oklahoma, escaped their captors and settled around Tuscumbia.
